Ryan and Hope Pjesky raise wheat, stocker cattle and Dorset sheep on their farm/ranch in northwestOklahoma.  The climate in their area allows them to graze cattle on their wheat fields from November until mid-March and still harvest the wheat for grain.  They buy beef steers when they weight around 400 pounds and raise them until they weigh at least 800 pounds.  Their small sheep flock produces purebred Dorset lambs that are marketed to 4-H and FFA Youth to show.

Ryan and Hope are both involved with several agricultural organizations.  They both volunteer their time to be leaders in organizations such as Farm Bureau.  In 2005, they were Top Ten Finalists for the American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award.  Being advocates for agriculture is important to them.

As you can see, they are very active in their community and we feel privileged to have them participating in the program!
