FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - NOVEMBER

BRUCE VINCENT RECEIVES PRESTIGOUS VERITAS AWARD
(Libby, MT.) Bruce A. Vincent, Executive Director of Provider Pals®,
was presented with American Agri-Women’s 2007 Veritas Award at
the American Agri-Women Annual Meeting andConvention in St. Paul,
MN on November 10th, 2007.
Each year AAW presents this award to an individual who gives public witness
to “the pursuit of truth” in accordance with the principles
enunciated in the AAW Statement of Philosophy, The Call to Power.
The AAW Call to Power written by Sister Thomas Moore Bertels states
in part, "History will be kinder to us if our capacity to effect change
is implemented in the right way for the right reasons...the constant pursuit
of truth must lie at the heart of our purpose and actions." The award
was given to Bruce “For creatively communicating both common ground
and differences between grassroots providers and urban consumers.”
“This exemplifies the actions of Bruce Vincent. He is a powerful
spokesman and advocate for educating consumers about agriculture in a truthful
and balanced way. We were pleased and honored to present him with the Veritas
Award which he has truly earned in all the wonderful work he is doing,” says
Yvonne Erickson, Agri-Women President.
For the past 20 years Bruce, a third generation logger, has spoke throughout
the United States and the world - encouraging people to communicate with
each other in respectful dialogue that will bring responsible, educated
decisions. He often testified on resource issues before Congress
and has appeared on several news programs such as “60 Minutes.” Among
other local and regional organizations, Bruce is currently serving as President
of Communities For A Great Northwest, is a partner in the public relations
firm ENVIRONOMICS, and serves as Executive Director of the Preserve America
Presidential Award winning Provider Pals® cultural exchange program.
Provider Pals®, a 501(c
)3 non-profit education program, was a long time dream of Bruce’s
that took flight in 2002 due to the generous support of Ford Motor Company
and Caterpillar. Its mission reflects the reasoning behind this award – building
cross cultural bridges of communication that will foster respectful, responsible
dialogue on vital issues that society faces in dealing with natural resources,
the environment and growing populations.
Bruce has been married to his wife Patti Jo for over 30 years and has
four children, two sons-in-law, and one granddaughter. His current
activities represent a family commitment to responsible environmentalism.
Other award winners include the prestigious Paul Harvey, Julia Child,
John Strossel, and Richard Pombo. Bruce was honored to join these
people and accept the award. “It is humbling to be given this
award and to join this group of fine people when there are so many
others much more deserving and especially when it is my wife and family
that have been the real workers in anything I might have accomplished.”
